Vocational and rehabilitation practice
Dan has practiced as a vocational counselor and consultant evaluator since 2006. His work covers labor market surveys, job analysis, transferable skills analysis, vocational evaluation, employability assessment, and life care planning. He performs loss-of-household-services analysis using the Dollar Value of a Day and American Time Use Survey methodology, and has served as a Social Security vocational expert.
ABVE leadership
Dan is the President of the American Board of Vocational Experts for the 2023–2025 term. He served as President-elect for the 2021–2023 term and will continue as Past President through 2026. He has chaired the ABVE annual conference in 2022 and 2023, and he serves on the ABVE Education Committee.
Teaching and research
Dan has served as an adjunct professor in the Forensic Vocational Rehabilitation Course at the University of Florida and has lectured at Rutgers School of Health-Related Professions and the Social Security Administration. His published work includes research on surveillance-system monitors in the workforce and on the use of artificial intelligence in rehabilitation counseling case management.
